I did a repeat of Euro trip, which happened onaly coz of Shila, BTW....I was trying to close on work related tasks....till they announced that all electronic gadgets need to be switched off in d aircraft after boarding....I'm not at all proud of this feat....but the pressure of not getting to log into work for 10+ days was getting on my nerves....so even if that meant that my son actually ended up packing my bags....he did that as he thought we would miss our flight okay....
I find it difficult to sleep thru late night flights and this one didn't have in flight entertainment as well....so I was just hoping to touch land as soon as v cud....v had a transit in Thailand....a place I visited 10 years ago ... Since then....their currency value has gone up ...
V reached Vietnam at around 8am, local time and headed to our hotel in Ha Noi...and since check in was like miles miles away....v started off with our ride across the city...
The kids didn't quite forgive ur highness for locating a south indian restaurant for breakfast....I don't blame them.... especially since it was their first meal outside of India....n they were all gung ho about exploring local cuisine....
What strikes me first in a new city are the smells n sounds.... I remember Paro in Bhutan being so quiet ....it seemed so surreal or Europe n Vietnam having smoky airs...
